With new research and innovations in the lactation field, there are now many more ways to increase milk production than in previous years. This talk presents the most promising of these new methods, with information about targeting the method to the underlying problem.

11:00 am - 12:00 pm: Session 2. Chris Clark presents "Lactation Management Is An Oxymoron: The Role of Biological Nurturing and Kangaroo Mothercare."
The objectives of this session include:

12:45 pm - 2:00 pm: Session 3. Diana West presents "Knipple Knowledge"
This session explores normal and potentially problematic anatomical nipple variations, nipple surgeries, conditions, and their effects on milk production, milk removal, and direct breastfeeding. Positional modifications and tools to facilitate latch for mothers with nipple variations, conditions, or a history of nipple surgery are discussed.
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Session 4. LaVonne Moore Presents "Impact of Birth Practices on Breastfeeding"
Where you birth and how you birth impacts breastfeeding. This session will:

3:15 pm - 4:30 pm: Session 5. Diana West presents "Helping Millennial Moms Breastfeed."
A discussion of effective methods to interact with the new generation of breastfeeding mothers, known as "Millennial Moms," who have vastly different needs and communication styles from those who typically counsel them.
4:30 pm: Day Concludes. Turn in CERP paperwork and evaluations.
Friday Evening: We're pleased to announce a VIP dinner to be held immediately after the conference.. Join us for a casual and fun evening with our speakers at Stout's Pub, just a short drive from our venue at the University of Minnesota's Continuing Education and Conference Center. Cost is $25 per person and includes heavy hors d'oeuvres, a variety of salads and brick-oven fired pizzas. Non-alcoholic drinks included. Stout's Pub has a happy hour on Friday nights until 6:00 pm for those who wish to purchase alcoholic drinks on their own.
Come mingle with our speakers and network with other lactation professionals in the community. We've reserved a semi-private room for 30 people. Due to space limitations, attendance is limited to the first 30 respondents. We'll collect cash or check at the registration table on the morning of April 12th.
