2020 Conference Speakers
Marsha Walker, RN, IBCLC, is a registered nurse and international board certified lactation consultant. She maintained a large clinical practice at a major HMO in Massachusetts, is a published author and an international speaker. Consulting with hospitals, providing in-service presentations, speaking at conferences and workshops and advocating for breastfeeding at the state and federal levels occupy her professional time. She is currently on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Lactation Consultant Association and is the Executive Director of the National Alliance for Breastfeeding Advocacy.
Jess Helle-Morrissey, MA, MSW, LGSW, MA, PMH-C, CLEC, CLD(CBI) is a psychotherapist in private practice, a trainer, teacher, and consultant, a birth doula, a childbirth educator, and a lactation counselor. Since 2005, Jess has provided warm, compassionate, practical mental health care for a variety of clients in the Twin Cities metro area, having focused almost exclusively on perinatal and maternal mental health since 2012. Jess has master’s degrees in counseling psychology, clinical social work, and holistic health. She is proud to be in the first wave of mental health professionals ever to have the letters “PMH-C” behind her name, recognizing a new and important certification in perinatal mental health. She is passionate about making sure everyone has accurate information and access to support in the perinatal period and beyond and will talk your ear off about it if given the chance.
Jessica Underwood, LLLL (she/her) is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, La Leche League Leader, WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, and birth and postpartum doula serving the Twin Cities metro. She is deeply committed to working collaboratively with families toward their goals in the perinatal period. In her free time, Jessica enjoys running, practicing yoga, reading, and exploring the cities with her husband and two daughters.
Jayme Jo Ebert, IBCLC, CPD, LLLL (she/her) is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Certified Postpartum Doula and La Leche League leader serving the Twin Cities metro. She is passionate about supporting families and parents in the postpartum period and beyond. Her background is full and interdisciplinary, having worked in environmental conservation, special education, art, photography, commercial baking, and more, all of this experience adding value in meeting the needs of a wide variety of families. She is a DONA-certified postpartum doula and a Certified Lactation Counselor through the Healthy Children Project. She was trained to become an IBCLC through UC San Diego and is a La Leche League leader in the Twin Cities Metro. It is deeply important to Jayme Jo, that every parent who has the desire to breastfeed/chestfeed has all of the information and support they need to be successful. In her free time, Jayme loves to bake sourdough, spend time outside, practice yoga, work on creative projects, and have fun with her husband and daughter.
